National parks in the Republic of North Macedonia
Let’s start with the definition itself: A national park is a large, mostly unaltered area of land or water with multiple natural values that includes one or more preserved or slightly altered ecosystems and is primarily intended to preserve the original natural, cultural, and spiritual wealth.
There are three national parks in our country: Galichica, Mavrovo and Pelister. The national parks in North Macedonia have scientific-research, cultural, educational-educational, and tourist-recreational purposes.
